Hats Off to BOMLA’s Fifth Graduating Class
It’s hard to believe that BOMLA now has five years of graduating seniors – what a joy it’s been to watch our young men become leaders in the classroom and beyond. On Saturday, May 25, BOMLA recognized and celebrated the 43 seniors at our graduation ceremony, all of whom were accepted to a four-year college or university.
“Graduation was a bittersweet moment for me,” said College Bound Advisor Misty Williams. “I have seen these students grow, develop and work hard this past year to accomplish their individual goals. During that time, I was fortunate to learn their stories, see their perceived obstacles and watch them achieve their dreams. I will miss them dearly, but I am excited to watch them flourish at the next level.”
Luis Garcia is one of our 43 students who was accepted to a four-year college after graduation. “BOMLA taught me honesty, which I will take with me to college,” he said. “I am grateful that BOMLA set me up for a future at UT Arlington.”
This year’s graduating class received more than $8 million in scholarships and financial rewards to assist in their collegiate careers. Thank you to the BOMLA teachers, staff, volunteers, board members and countless supporters for all that you do in shaping the next generation of leaders. We simply could not be more proud of our young men.
